Spicy Lemony Salmon Burger

Who says burgers have to be beef? Even poultry? Try this easy to make salmon burger recipe for a new twist on an old fave! Can be served with yam chips or fries (baked, of course!) or a salad. Consider having for lunch on the weekend due to the high caloric intake- it will give you the energy to get out and enjoy the rest of the day!

  • 1 can (213 g) canned salmon, drained
  • 1 egg
  • 1/8 cup fresh parsley
  • 1 tbsp onion
  • 1/4 cup oats
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp dried basil
  • 1 pinch pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Dash hot pepper sauce to taste


  • 2 tbsp Light Mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Pinch pepper flakes

Serves 2

In medium bowl, mix drained salmon and egg.

In food processor, add parsley, onion, oats, oregano, basil, and pepper flakes; pulse until all ingredients well mixed and finely chopped. Add to salmon and egg and mix well. Add lemon juice and hot pepper sauce. Stir until well mixed and form into 2 patties. Refrigerate for minimum 1 hour. Cook on non-stick pan, bake in oven, or use grill. Serve on bun with dressing and top with vegetables of choice.
