Getting Healthy from the Inside Out

PIZZA!

  • I know I’ve posted a recipe for pizza in the past, but I wanted to provide another option to show you don’t have to give up favorite foods but you can still be healthy! You just have to get creative!!!

  • INGREDIENTS:
  • Whole wheat panini
  • Garlic Bulb
  • Red Onion, sliced
  • Roma Tomato, sliced
  • Goat Cheese
  • Cilantro, minced
  • *
  • DIRECTIONS:
    1. Roast the garlic bulb by cutting the pointy tip off, place on tin foil, drizzle with olive oil, and bake at 350′ until a knife and be easily inserted into the cloves. Allow to cool slightly and remove the cloves.
    2. While the rarlic is roasting, caramelize the onions in 1 tsp oil on medium heat until they are slightly translucent and aromatic, about 5 minutes.
    3. Smear the roasted garlic into the panini (think of it as replacing the sauce) top with caramelized onions, tomato, and goat cheese.
    4. Bake in oven until crust is golden- do not judge it by the cheese as goat cheese does not “melt” like traditional cheeses.
    5. Top with cilantro and enjoy!
    6. As a variation, add sliced cooked chicken!
